Halloween is almost here, and trick-or-treating is just around the corner! That means there will be plenty of candy to go around, and lots of temptations right at your finger tips. Keep reading to find out which Halloween candy is best for your sweet tooth and which candy will pack on the pounds underneath your costume this year.

Here are the worst Halloween candies:

  • Fun size Butterfinger: Just one is 100 calories!
  • Air Heads Chewy Candies: One has 60 calories and is almost all sugar.
  • Fun Size Twix: Although delicious, it clocks in at 50 calories.
  • Chewy Caramels: Four of these have 160 calories total.
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pumpkin: Perhaps the most amazing Halloween candy has 170 calories in just one.
  • Fun Size Milky Way: One has 75 calories.
  • Mounds: These are very high in fat due to the coconut they contain.

So what should you be eating instead? Here are the best candies for this Halloween season:

  • Tootsie Roll: One has only 26 calories and just .5 grams of fat.
  • Candy Corn: Ten have 64 calories and 0 grams of fat.
  • Hershey’s Kisses: Three of these are just 67 calories and only 4 grams of fat.
  • Dum Dum Suckers: One pop has 20 calories and 0 grams of fat.
  • Jolly Ranchers: Three of these hard candies have only 70 calories.
  • Blow Pop: One has 60 calories and gum inside for later!
  • Peanut M&Ms: One fun size pouch has 90 calories, plus protein from the peanuts.
  • Pumpkin Marshmallow Peeps: One peep has only 16 calories, so you can eat a few.
  • York Peppermint Pattie: One full size candy bar has 165 calories, low for a full size chocolate treat.
  • Three Musketeers: One fun size bar has 63 calories.
  • Caramel Apple Pop: One has 60 calories, and the sweet and chewy mix of the sucker and the caramel will leave you feeling satisfied, especially because of the time it takes to eat it.
  • Lemonheads: One fun size pack has 50 calories.
  • Gobstoppers: Nine of these has 60 calories, plus they last forever.
  • Pixy Stix: Although mostly sugar, seven of these are only 60 calories.
  • Smarties: One pack has 6 grams of sugar but only 25 calories.
  • Starbursts:One square is only 15 calories!
  • Any sugar-free candy options are the best, but they are harder to find and usually cost more than regular candy.
