American Marketing Association Offers Sport Management Field Pass

On Tuesday November 13th at 7pm in Fabiani theater, business students and anyone interested in the Sports Industry will have the opportunity to see two speakers discuss their experiences in that industry. Trine University’s American Marketing Association is presenting the Sport Management Field Pass to all students and staff. AMA has secured two speakers, one from the Ft. Wayne Tin Caps and the other from Ft. Wayne Mad Ants, to come and share their experiences and stories to the Trine community.

Michael Limmer

Garrett Martz

A little about the speakers, Michael Limmer is the Vice President of Marketing and Promotions for the Tin Caps, and has held that position since May of 2008. The Mad Ants will be represented by Garrett Martz, who is Vice President of Sales, and also happens to be a Tri-State Alumni. Limmer and Martz will speak about their experiences in the Professional Sports Industry, and at the end of the presentations there will be a question and answer discussion. Students will have the opportunity to have any questions answered, and to participate in the topics discussed during the night. Participants are also encouraged to continue the discussion on Twitter using #TUFieldPass.

“Obviously we wanted to do something to benefit the business students, but we also really encourage other majors who might have an interest in the Sports Industry to attend. Any time you can hear a professional speak about their experiences, it can only benefit you in your own career path,” AMA President and Senior Marketing major Nikola Pusara comments.

The Field Pass is an open event for anyone interested in learning more about the Professional Sports Industry. the AMA wants everyone to attend as it is an opportunity to learn from two professionals working in this industry. It is the first of two events the AMA will be hosting as they will also work on the Social Media Summit, which will be held in the Spring.

So Tuesday night at 7 pm stop by Fabiani theater to hear first hand experiences about the ever exciting Sports Industry. If you are interested in joining AMA, contact Nikola Pusara or the faculty adviser Julie Howenstine.
